Age Policy

Alcohol is for adults

G&D products contain alcohol and may be purchased and received only by people aged 18 or over.

This policy applies to orders placed with G&D SPIRITS LTD, trading as G&D The Spirit of British Mischief.

Using the website and placing an order

You must be at least 18 to use this website to purchase alcohol or to place an order with us.

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • you are aged 18 or over;

  • the information you provide is accurate;

  • you are buying the alcohol for yourself or for another adult; and

  • the person receiving the delivery will be aged 18 or over.

An age prompt or confirmation on the website supports these rules but does not replace our right to make further checks.

Age checks

We may use reasonable age-verification measures before accepting or fulfilling an order. If we cannot establish that the purchaser is at least 18, we may ask for further information, refuse the sale or cancel the order.

Our delivery providers may ask the recipient for acceptable photographic identification before handing over a parcel, particularly where the recipient appears younger than the age threshold used by that provider.

Acceptable identification may include:

  • a valid passport;

  • a valid UK photocard driving licence; or

  • a valid card bearing the PASS hologram.

The delivery provider’s own identification rules will apply at the door.

Delivery to another person

If you send an order as a gift or arrange delivery to somebody else, you are responsible for ensuring that the named recipient is at least 18 and is available to meet any identification request.

Alcohol must not be ordered on behalf of, supplied to or collected by anyone under 18.

Refused or failed delivery

A delivery may be refused if:

  • the recipient is under 18;

  • requested identification cannot be produced or is not accepted;

  • the recipient appears intoxicated and the delivery provider refuses delivery under its procedures; or

  • the delivery provider otherwise reasonably believes that handing over the alcohol would be unlawful or unsafe.

If a parcel is returned to us because the age requirements were not met, we may cancel the order and deduct reasonable delivery and return costs from any refund.

Suspected misuse

We may refuse, cancel or investigate an order where we reasonably suspect that it has been placed by or for a person under 18, that false age information has been supplied, or that another person is attempting to evade these rules.

Responsible drinking
